Why is Tiktok sending me bot traffic
The most common reason you are getting bot traffic from your Tiktok ads is because you are using Pangle placements.
Titok offers 3 main placements through tiktok ads, they are;
- TikTok: In-feed ads on the “For You” page
- News Feed Apps (BuzzVideo, etc.): Newsfeed ads and Detail page ads
- Pangle (TikTok Audience Network)
Pangle allows your ad to reach a broader audience and be seen outside of tiktok on mobile apps.
Pangle is Tiktok mobile ad network which allows mobile app developers to monetize their apps by signing up on Pangle ad networks and allowing Tiktok advertisers to place Tikto ads on their mobile App.
Pangle ordinarily has a positive goal that is to help Tiktok advertisers reach a broader audience and to help mobile app developers monetize their apps by placing Tiktok ads on their apps.
Unfortunately, there have been a lot of complaints by tiktok advertisers seeing bot traffic when Pangle ad placement is enabled.
The explanation to this; is there are mobile app developers who may try to monetize their apps by fraudulently using bot clicks.
If your ads are innocently placed by Pangle to such a mobile app, you will get lots of traffic.
How to fix this; Boycott the tiktok pangle placement and see your ad traffic improves. it most likely will.
According to tiktok, the placement setting cannot be changed after an ad group is created.
Therefore when you are creating your ads you will have 2 types of placements;
- Automatic ad placement; Choosing this option allows titok to use all the available ad placement to give the best results for your ads.
- Manual ad placement; Choosing this option allows you to manually select what placement tiktok should use.
Select the “manual ad placement” and disable “Pangle (Tiktok Audience Network). This should eliminate any bot traffic coming from Tiktok Pangle.
